Jonathon Holmes is a theatre composer, writer and actor, singer-songwriter, jazz pianist and piano-bar entertainer.
His musical comedy Three in the Bed, which he wrote and directed, had Sydney seasons in 2017 and 2018. Reviewers called it "terrific fun: cheeky, sexy, laugh out loud... full of heart" and "a success". It appears in the book The Australian Musical. He just finished writing his newest musical Jingle Hell. He'll occasionally release pop music, his newest single 'Every Goddamn Day'.
Jonathon's musical theatre credits include directing The Fantasticks (Exclaim), and acting as Clopin in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Blackout/Regals); Berger in Hair (Exclaim);
Hewson/Downer in Keating! (Birdie); Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar (Willoughby); Orin in Little Shop of Horrors (Riverside);Panch in Spelling Bee (Exclaim); Tobias in Sweeney Todd (AM); Rod in Avenue Q (Rockdale); and Rolf in The Sound of Music (Chatswood).
Jonathon is the host and pianist of 'Mickey's Jazz Club', an 8-piece "swinging your favourite toons", playing recently at the Sydney and Adelaide fringe festivals. He is also a human-jukebox in his piano and drum duo 'Keys & Crash', for Carnival Cruise Line, and around Sydney.
Jonathon holds a Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre).
